Reading reflection NO.2

For my reading I decided to pick cognitive surplus. The theme mainly throughout the book was about how the newer innovations, such as: social media and technology are taking over. This goes to say how we should open our eyes up and use what we are offered. This can be seen why many small businesses do not thrive as much as new ones that are created from individuals who know this new technology.

It helps me connect with what we are learning in class by simply connecting the puzzles. During the class we are basically told to use our resources that can help our business expand by using websites with analytics or creating a donation page using social media. The book simply helps you make that correlation that this is something used in the true world and should not be ignored.

If I were to make an exercise for this class that correlates with the book it would be to create some type of online business. Reason why is because it forces us to use the future. Many people are using ecommerce websites and working at home which saves on leasing a office in a building. Yet, they manage to get the same results as they from either at home or the office costing around a thousand dollars a month that could be used instead into marketing for the company.

A "aha" moment I received was when I kinda connected those puzzles that we should not fight where the future is going and instead tag along for the ride. Many who try to fight the trend or future tend to fail. So, I realized that we should use all the resources we can possibly take to get the best team, marketing campaigns, and products across the world then instead being traditional and shop around town while putting flyers for your business.
